HAPPY 25th ANNIVERSARY to @WinstonWachter!!! My 73rd drawing of Greenland (freshly back on the market!) is included in this celebratory exhibit. Alongside works by Deb Achak, Christopher Boffoli, Katherine Bowling, Andrew Casto, Edwin Cohen, Sally Gall, Peter Gronquist...
The blues in the cracks and crevices are like no color I’ve seen anywhere else. Their saturation is beyond anything pastels could mimic, but @UnisonColour and I do get pretty close 😊
Ice can take on so many different forms and colors, depending how it’s lit. I spent a full day with this glacier (Perito Moreno) and it got more beautiful as the sun dipped towards the horizon, shining sideways through the seracs and radiating blues I’ve never seen before! (WIP)
Why is ice so blue? The quick answer is that it's because water absorbs all other colors of the spectrum, so the only one that's reflected back to your eyes is blue. This ice you’re looking at here (or rather my drawing of it!) is super dense and likely very old!
This photo I took out of a NASA aircraft of Antarctic snow covered mountains is in a @JuxtapozMag installation in Miami this week! Swipe 👉🏼for details
