Okay, watched TSR Overdrive, and I am DOWN with this stylized rotoscoping, it reminds me a bit of Jet Set Radio and Sonic Battle, I think it looks super clean.

Watched a video showing off the current alternate costumes in SSBU, I'm a little surprised at the absence of Fire Mario. That one always seemed like a fan favorite. #SmashBrosUltimate

Really inspired by MVC and the Z2 sprites. I've never used a style quite like this up until now, and it may have taken about 10 hours to do, but I'm actually pretty pleased with the results for the most part. I'll work at this method a bit more from here and refine it a bit later
