@super_caelkins This is basically the chronology. We’ve had the same base model since 2005 and it’s gotten slight changes and tweaks over time but nothing drastic

Unfortunately these things have been around for so long it’s been cemented as “how he looks” now. An example of this would be updating preexisting stock art and making new art to reflect these changes, instead of the other way. So I doubt we’ll ever get any updated models

@Canadianguyehh Also its worth noting, that specific drawing of Crash was used in a lot of promotional material at the time, so it wasn’t just meant to be concept art. It was finalised material for the game and not just developing the character

@Canadianguyehh The PS1 models were pretty damn faithful to the concept art considering the hardware limitations. Not sure why people are suddenly insisting they’re vastly different interpretations of the character now.

Even worse is it genuinely kills me knowing that they DID manage to reproduce the original designs but didn’t even consider to actually stick to it. You guys had the answer to what Crash is the whole time!!!! You torment me!!!!

Which just brings me back to my original point

My only gripe with this is I’m not huge on removing the page grain and AI upscaling since it muddies up the visuals and overall makes everything look softer and less sharp
(Some charm is lost too but thats more my taste)

I drew lots of Sonic last year and I kinda wanna change that, not gonna outright give up but I wanna introduce more variety. I‘m glad I did draw sonic so much tho since I’ve learned a lot about how his design works
