Normal people: “ok I better not disturb the village folk or cause any commotion”
Crash Bandicoot, upon seeing the local wildlife:
I don’t care what anyone says, I love this page. The art is so over the top and wacky it’s great
All the expressions here are really funny, though that might not be intentional lol https://t.co/0QXuY5QOsI
@Canadianguyehh Also its worth noting, that specific drawing of Crash was used in a lot of promotional material at the time, so it wasn’t just meant to be concept art. It was finalised material for the game and not just developing the character
@Canadianguyehh The PS1 models were pretty damn faithful to the concept art considering the hardware limitations. Not sure why people are suddenly insisting they’re vastly different interpretations of the character now.
Even worse is it genuinely kills me knowing that they DID manage to reproduce the original designs but didn’t even consider to actually stick to it. You guys had the answer to what Crash is the whole time!!!! You torment me!!!!
Which just brings me back to my original point
@vumvdr @SanekoGato Also, I found pins of this Tails with a different pose too. It was also used on those UK Sega buses with an even earlier design before it
@vumvdr @SanekoGato I’ve a hunch that this particular drawing was early concept art for Tails. We can also see a back view of this Tails in the Japanese manual for Sonic 2. And compared to the final design it lines up more closely to one of his inspirations, proportions wise
@SanekoGato Yeah, the only things I didn’t scan was a few badniks since it was weird traces of them. I should probably scan them anyways for archival purposes tbh
I’ll post the rest of the scans I have below
