Once again I painted a matte for this, the expansive view of the Dreaming City we see in the opener, but I'm mostly proud of the overall mood of the piece and of Uldren's performance (brought to life by the incredible animators at Axis and Sava's direction). It's just perfect.

I wanted to paint her as this force of nature, almost insignificant next to the power she was throwing around. Ultimately I had to bring her closer to frame for it to read at card size, but I still like those rough sketches :)
Also an earlier version with her old armour design!
And hey, I got to paint another of my favourite Women of Magic; Chandra <3

my sketches for this one were a LOT more stylised/colourful, but I wanted to strip it back in the end and have it a little more realistic. I liked the idea of armour, but sadly it didn't make the cut :)
this handsome bird was just revealed for M20 :)
