some old sketches and studies I never got around to finishing. I hope you don't mind me sharing old work, killing time until Throne of Eldraine kicks off ;)
I thought I'd do a wee tease of the #CriticalRole poster I'm working on :3
It's still very much a WIP, maybe 50% of the way there, but I'm just having such a blast painting these lovely humans and their friends and wanted to share it! ⚔️🎲🧙♂️
Let's do a special #FF: Share four artists who you consider to be your biggest contemporary influences or who shaped your career.
Mine are:
1) Karla Ortiz (@kortizart)
2) Adrian Smith (@a_HATE_smith)
3) Jonathan Jacques-Belletête (@Jonatchoo)
4) Cynthia Sheppard (@SheppardArts)
can we all just take a wee minute to appreciate how GOOD @Andantonius is?
oh hey, now that I'm just working for myself and some amazing clients, I feel comfortable talking about a big old thing which has plagued me throughout my life and career as an artist and art director:
I am colourblind.
Like, really quite colourblind.
Once again I painted a matte for this, the expansive view of the Dreaming City we see in the opener, but I'm mostly proud of the overall mood of the piece and of Uldren's performance (brought to life by the incredible animators at Axis and Sava's direction). It's just perfect.
Hello! I'm Paul, a Scottish artist who works on Magic: The Gathering and D&D.
I was previously an Art Director at Axis Animation, creating AAA game cinematics. Now I'm making my own game, a gothic horror detective RPG called Pale Tides ☠️
