Female portrait with spectacles from yesterday at the @dulwichartgroup
RIP Richard Schmid certainly the most influential realist painter of our times. The mainstream Art world paid him little attention. His contribution to the resurgence of realism has been huge. I hope future generations of Art historians will give him the recognition he deserves.
Two portraits of one of the most important women in my life, my Grandmother. Who at 103 I'm very lucky to still have in my life #InternationalWomensDay
Very Fortunate to have caught the last day of William Orpen Method & Mastery at the @WattsGallery and spend some time with some of my favourite Orpen paintings. Best show I've been to in ages!
Was very lucky this weekend to be able to attend an amazing workshop with one of my favourite UK Portrait painters Andrew James RP. An outstanding colourist, it was great to see how he works and get his advice on how I can push my use of colour.
Rather Pre-Raphaelitesque portrait from this afternoon at the @dulwichartgroup
A few of my favourites from the 2019 @RP_portraits show. Yung men, Tom Van de Wouwer and Evgeny Grouzdev. You can also see one of mine there too, at the @mallgalleries 9-24 May
Stages of an alla prima portrait study I did recently at @LifeDrawArtClub
Some of my students work at the end of a two week pose at the @dulwichartgroup
