Quick break in between Zoom meetings & work to go look for some wild backyard biodiversity & make @inaturalist observations. I think the jumping spider is my favorite!
Only 50 days until the 5th #CityNatureChallenge starts on April 24! We anticipate 40,000+ people around the world will make & share over 1 million observations of nature in 230+ cities in 4 days. See if your city is joining in: https://t.co/hrrHhjO1qD #citizenscience #citsci
We did see a couple #nudibranchs on our #OSM20 #tidepool trip today. They were both v v tiny. Neither were blue, & one is a species we see relatively regularly in N. CA. Elusive blue nudibranchs are still eluding me. But say hi to the Yellow-Gilled Sea Goddess & McDonald's Dorid.
While we were surveying vernal pools today, I also made sure to turn over pretty much every log I saw. Rewarded with quite a variety of #slimemolds!
My last #invert of 2019, unless something wacky shows up in this AirBnB tonight! #millipede #InverteFest
Night #tidepooling + UV light = 🤩🤩🤩

It's 5am Thursday here in California, which means it's midnight on Friday in Christchurch, New Zealand... the #CityNatureChallenge has officially begun! Follow along as the CNC wave sweeps around the world! https://t.co/DIQiv9o14A
Found some brooding #anemones (Epiactis prolifera) with some very impressive broods yesterday in the #tidepools! Check the photos for lots of baby anemones.
