Good afternyan! The kanji I'm studying today is 午, noon.

This kanji originally represented a kind of pestle for grinding and pounding rice. I believe it came to represent noon because it pointed straight up, thus reminding people of "high noon".

Good afternyan~

Today's kanji is 売, sell.

Originally it was 出 (to go out) and 買 (to trade). It's been simplified quite a bit.

Mnemonic: A person standing behind a portable table for displaying goods to sell.

Thanks for studying with me! また明日!

Good afternyan! Today I'm covering 買, meaning buy.

This one was challenging to devise a mnemonic for, but the bottom part is 貝, shellfish, so you can think of it as putting shellfish in a bag after purchasing them.

I hope that helps you out! また明日!

At the top of the hour (8pm CDT), it's for some more Core Keeper with the resident pixie gardener ! Might also have another guest or two show up as well. ^_^

See you shortly on my channel, https://t.co/vlT8rk8Bdx

Welcome to my kanji study on 店, shop!

The kanji looks like a person behind a counter under a roof, so it's not hard to see why it represents a shop. ^_^

Don't forget that the most important part of learning kanji is working on them regularly.

Good afternyan, and here's today's kanji: 活, living!

I remember it as 舌(tongue) next to the water radical, so a "wet tongue", as in drinking from flowing water. Best way to stay alive. ^_^

Learning Japanese, one kanji at a time. にゃりがとう, またあした!

Some days it's all you can do to put one foot in front of the other, but that's all it takes to keep moving forward. ^_^

Good evenyan; today's kanji is 止, stop!

It originally depicted a foot, so shifting to a stationary foot makes sense. Think of the lines as toes.

Also it's one off from 正, justice, which can be seen as "toeing the line". ^_^

Thanks for coming, また明日!

Good evenyan, and here's my kanji for today: 走, run

This kanji originally depicted a person running, but has changed over time to the modern form. It's harder to tell now, so I remember this as a person doing the Naruto run. ^_^

Thanks and またあした!

Good afternyan! Today's kanji is 歩, walk.

The original concept was footsteps, but it's changed over time. I remember it since the lower part is 少(little), so little steps (as opposed to big steps like with running).

Thanks for helping me learn! また明日!
