Good afternyan~

I'm covering 明, bright, today.

Sun 日 and moon 月 together. I find kanji like this very straightforward to remember.

Also, this is part of 明日(ashita, tomorrow). I like the symbolism; tomorrow is bright~

こんにちにゃ! Today's kanji is 船, ship.

I see this as two views of a ship - the left being the sail with the mainmast in the middle, and the right being the ship itself.

Coming up with creative ways to remember kanji is half the challenge. ^_^

Good afternyan~

My kanji for today is 組, association.

I believe this originally meant a silk scarf, but I see it as thread next to a loom for spinning. So it became 'organization', as the process of making silk thread required organized labor.

Here's today's kanji: 会, meet.

To me, this looks like a little table under a roof. It's a good place to meet someone, especially if it's rainy.

I'm always interested in how other people remember kanji too, so please share. ^_^

Happy birthday !

I hope you had a great day today. ^_^

Good afternyan! Today's is 回, round!

This was originally a swirl pattern, representing a whirlpool, but it's since been simplified as you can see. Now it looks like a doorknob to me, so it's easy to remember.

Thanks for studying with me, また明日!

こんにちにゃ~ Today's kanji is 弓, bow!

This one was really straightforward because it looks very much like a drawn bow, sans the bowstring. Not all kanji are like this, but it's nice when they are. ^_^

Thanks for studying with me~ また明日!

Good afternyan~

My kanji for today is 汽, steam.

It consists of the water radical and a kanji once used for clouds. What better way to represent steam? ^_^

It's easy to envision this as a cloud of hazy steam, isn't it?

Thanks for studying with me. ^_^

Good afternyan! The kanji I'm studying today is 午, noon.

This kanji originally represented a kind of pestle for grinding and pounding rice. I believe it came to represent noon because it pointed straight up, thus reminding people of "high noon".
