"He watched a leaf tumble through the air and land with a whispery tap on the water. It danced in the current, spinning and turning as it floated away. That leaf has a place to be, thought Perdu. But what about me?"

On @PoetryDayUK it's wonderful to hear that The Proper Way to Meet a Hedgehog has been shortlisted by @clpe1 for the #CLiPPA2020 poetry award. I didn't get to meet Paul in person, sadly, but I know he'd have been as proud as I am today x
As it's #InternationalDogDay, I'm duty bound to share a pic or two of Perdu. Can there be a more worthy hashtag? x
@KSunray3 @Alibrarylady @Bridgeanne @robynwilsonowen @TinyOwl_Books @simonkids_UK @Mat_at_Brookes @marygtroche @GalwayMr @one_to_read @_Reading_Rocks_ This is the moment Anne was describing so beautifully!
Just found some early character studies for little #Perdu They're pretty rough but I think it was around this time he began to take shape. His face got lighter for the book as I was finding it tough to capture expression in his eyes against the dark fur x
I'll be joining the fabulous team @toppsta at 10 am, talking about all things picture books (and hopefully little dogs in scarves, too!) Be lovely if you'd join us! #Perdu #ToppstaBookClub x
Just two days until Perdu finds his place in the world! Will someone give this little dog a home? x

Looking forward to the day I can wander into town again!
Here's little Perdu out and about in the big city. "People rushed and raced around him. Everyone had somewhere to be. I must find my place, thought Perdu. I must find my somewhere." x
