For reference. Mitsuteru Yokoyama's Tetsujin-28 debuted in 1956, and we mostly know it for being the first giant robot piloted by a remote control in japanese fiction. Tezuka's Astro Boy debuted in 1952, but it wasn't a giant robot tho. And then we had 1972 Nagai's Mazinger Z.
