Paulo Veronese’s huge Feast in the House of Levi (c.1573)
It was originally painted to be a Last Supper.
But famously, the artist was hauled in front of the Italian Inquisition, who took exception to the German halabadiers, and the dwarf.
So he simply renamed the work.
A landscape scene of 1801 by artist William Ashford, painting here with consummate skill, often using paint wet on wet I think, to achieve those elusive effects of light in massed foliage, worthy of anything by van Ruisdael or any other 17C Dutch master.

Dear Twitter friends, does anybody know where the rather grand doorway/ porch on Ormond House, Lower Leeson Street, originated? (With or w/out the amazing carved heads)
It’s not from this building, which is an office block and is 1980s or 90s pastiche)
Any help appreciated.
May I commend a visit to the Vicereines Exhib at @dublincastleopw ? The 4 chatelaines here are 1- Frances Jennings, Duchess of Tyrconnell, 2 Henrietta, Duchess of Bolton; 3- the countess of Buckingham (by Joshua Reynolds) and; 4- Mary Isabella Manners, the Duchess of Rutland.
