Zeus wanted revenge for Prometheus' thievery and created Pandora, a beautiful woman. Prometheus' brother fell for her. Her dowery was contained in a vase (or box). When opened, it released many plagues.

There were three Gorgons; Stheno, Euryale and Medusa. They had bore tusks, a head of entwining snakes, golden wings and hands made of bronze. The Gorgons' piercing gaze could turn anyone who encountered it to stone.
