Mine was @Gorremhome back in like 2002/2003 on the ancient site Elfwood. Seeing these pieces blew me away so much, I didn't even understand how it was possible to draw something like this.

Perhaps most famously used in Jurassic World concept art. They straight up just recreated the Allosaurus for the Battle at Big Rock short as well.

@LindseyWakefiel I love this specific area in particular. The irregularities in the scales look so believable and satisfying.

@FluffyHeretic Oh yeah there are many new pokemon I like. I just miss the angular jagged form language of early gens. A good example is the difference in how the fur on arcanine is handled vs the fur of boltund. Arcanine is super pointy.

I love how many early gen Pokemon were clearly inspired by kaiju. I miss the chunky monster fellas.

Everyone knows that Tyranitar was inspired by Godzilla and to a lesser extent that Nidoking was inspired by Baragon, but I just realized Giratina was almost certainly inspired by Battra.
