I have consumed exactly two versions of Akko, the 1969 original (though not in full) and the reboot comic drawn by the Kamikitas. It's clear a lot has happened in between these series. Since her comic started in 1962, she's the first Japanese magical girl!

There were no magical girls I enjoyed in 1993 enough to share… so I will shoutout two incredible 1994 series: Akazukin Chacha and Super Pig/Tonde Bu-rin! Chacha is so hilarious, and Rin is the first magical girl I remember watching.
