Cul-de-sac. 2010. Erin de Burca. on linen. Such homogeneous housing could be anywhere in the British Isles - an amalgamation of everyone's needs & preferences. The winter trees, stripped of leaves & character, stand impassively and join in spirit.

The next bus stop is closed too. 2021. John Ball. Viewed via a camera lens, the raised height of upper-deck bus travel captures an unusual viewpoint emphasising the wider surroundings of diminutive suburban estates.

Untitled study (View across to 2020. An early spring vista across a sea of roofs and streets shows the essence of a shared communal townscape. Economic painterly gestures convey the landscape and terrain.

"Newbuilds on the corner" (& two untitled). 2015. & monoprint on paper. Travelling through familiar surroundings submerged in gothic tones new perceptions are revealed, as shapes and skylines become unreal.

Footpath. 2018 on paper. The suburban commuter has an almost determined non-existent relationship with their local train stop. Footpath routes such as these are nowhere places, endured & ignored. The scene paints the ghosts of its patrons forever somewhere else.

Dwelling 1. Dwelling 3. 2014. . on wood. With the viewer in motion, the horizontal blur captures our momentum while also representing our indifference to the random and anonymous dwellings only ever registered in the peripheral view.
