@JonasKyratzes I didn't know much about Brian Blessed the first time I played TSWCE, but I was more familiar with him this time around, and this is one of the funniest things I've ever read and I cannot stop laughing at it.
I replayed The Sea Will Claim Everything by @JonasKyratzes & @VerenaKyratzes. 8 years later, it still feels fresh, still feels important, still feels relevant. A game of resistance, of hope, of people who believe in something. It has the best Brian Blessed jokes in any game.
This scene from the intro of The Chaos Engine remains a favourite of mine. The metallic yet pastel palette, the way the head breaks the frame, the sense of scale, the interesting approach to sculpted anatomy - lovely stuff by @trimfone3! ^_^
When I was a kid, my favourite graphic effect in games was when the lighting took on a reddish tint. I would always fly Flight Sim at night to get the cockpit glow, for example.
I think I like to draw warm lighting so much now because of this, it gives me a cozy yet eerie vibe.
I've been drawing low resolution art for years, and not once have I done one of those wonderful "Cool pilot with a very shiny helmet in a cockpit" shots that were the coolest thing ever when I was a kid. :'(
I love the mix of purple and green in this title screen graphic from Dominus. Great shading on the clouds and rocks, and a fantastic sense of elevation on the castle make this one of my favourite old game scenes.
I wish to remind everybody of the existence of this magnificent scene from the 1992 Legend Entertainment title Frederik Pohl's Gateway.
16 glorious colours.
Guards! Guards!: "Vimes realised he was in for another dose of dragon lore."
