Putting the space dragon, Disk, on hold to catch up on anatomy and structure. Less liefieldian proportions, the better.
Basically... I just skipped the sketch phase after taking a break from it to gather materials, going from draft STRAIGHT to the lineart after a refresher course on anatomy and shading.
Greyscale is the multiply + color layer trick on Clip Studio to create that effect.
Another one is completed. Feels good, eh? Gotta work on backlight shading.
Here's art progress, chibi edition. Diina's still WIP but character design and proportion has improved tenfold.

Fullbody comparison (2009 ~ 2021).
Well. Didn't start drawing more seriously until late 2009.
@mask_bastard Jokes on you I have no idea who half these characters are. Nice bits of fanart thrown in there, too.
This is the first time I ever did a variant of a drawing, at all. All it needs is a background to accompany it. This is Diina in her swimsuit.
I remember when we used to have casual discussion about animation. Before it was seen as "kid's stuff" and the 20 year unwinnable war Bush waged (wasn't about -isms, but more about -iums).
We grew up way too fucking fast with the advent of the internet...
I will be saying this a LOT, but... Wow. The almost seamless way the parts connect is much better than the previous method is much better as it probably helped that I did it ON PAPER first before repeating it again in a digital format. The hardest part now?
"Now what do I draw?"
