Here are a few pics from a feature for @Campaignmag I collaborated with @christhebarker to create a bunch of these retro Jack Kirby like images for the article.
They say imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, ever since the Empire cover came out there's been a lot of similar images floating around on Instagram from other artists.. I wonder how many of these I'll see over the next few years... Btw, the Simpsons one does look great.
So with a bit of luck my commercial work clears a bit over the next fortnight, and that will allow me to finish up a big project.
Once that is out of the way, I want to get back to having a bit more fun with my personal pieces for the backend of the year, "1 & done" style pics
An old picture.. How old? Well, back in the times when we had conventions, go outside, go into a shop freely... Basically what feels like a lifetime ago.
The basic stylings for the GB art came from a magazine cover for a sports title I'd created a year earlier.
The GB cover was made in a day and a half (maybe even a day) because I was running late, I had to drop a more complex idea, sometimes simplicity & composition win the day!
