Herb Ryman turns in another great aerial view for Tomorrowland '67. One of his best and one I've not seen.
Creatively versatile, Bushman also gave us some epic visions of Tomorrowland. His shading and shape language so elegant! #futurism #tomorrowland #disneyimagineering #midcentury #scifi
Marc Davis was no doubt inspired by classics like "The Book of Pirates" and "Treasure Island," masterfully illustrated by Howard Pyle and NC Wyeth.
Seldom "scene" concept sketches by Marc Davis. Not a line is wasted.
@ProgressCityUSA Now you got me going on Bob Peak and his powerful style!
In addition to Marilyn Sotto's Disney work, she began in Hollywood working for Edith Head at Paramount. Loved growing up watching her paint! An inspiration.
@43SquareMiles I just went for it. Wanted to see elements together. Other times did overlays and iterated with the architect to refine the look. This was an overlay on a bare building.
Early Concept. 1988 partial section view for glazed and cast iron Train station platform. Logos, poster cabinets, and even gaslights were integrated as well. In the end, wire glass was cost prohibitive #disneylandparis30
As Walt drew on Hollywood designers to create Disneyland, King Ludwig II hired stage designer Christian Jank to create concept art inspired by Wagner operas to shape his own fantasy world called "Neuschwanstein" among other things. Not so mad?
