I was looking at these paintings of Glasgow today (pcs 1 & 2) and I’m a little confused.
I’d always thought that the Molendinar stream/river originally flowed down Wishart Street.
But this wouldn’t be Wishart Street here, would it (Pics 1 & 2)?
Here’s a great book I found in a shop in New Yawk City years ago which I’d forgotten I had until 5 minutes ago.
A good and educational one for your weans if you have any or, for yourself if you like cool books with nice illustrations...
Is this particular painting of Glasgow’s Coat Of Arms old? Who painted it and when? Anyone know?
Thanks in advance and best wishes for your evening ahead.
The sort of golden part, if you zoom in to the top centre of my photo from a moment ago is of Glasgow’s Molindinar Burn. You can see it in its former glory in the other three images here...
Now.
And then.
And then.
And then.
It’s no wonder it’s called The Bridge Of Sighs.
@kermesinus Hello, my friend. How’s life? I meant to send these to you before now. Music recommendations as a thanks for the stuff you recommended to me (Which I’m still going through). ‘Victorialand’ is by Cocteau Twins and your Aunt’s favourite music. She got me into it 👍
