- Fresco from Pompeii depicting Phrixus & Helle fleeing their hate-filled stepmother on the golden-fleeced ram sent. Helle fell off the ram into the sea and either died or was rescued by Poseidon and turned into a sea goddess. The sea was named Hellespont after her.

Hadrian’s precise whereabouts within the German provinces are uncertain. He probably first placed his headquarters at Mogontiacum, a town Hadrian knew from his days as a legionary tribune with Legio XXII Primigenia twenty-two years earlier, and the capital of Germania Superior.

Hadrian crossed the Summum Pyrenaeum at the end of AD 122 on his way to Tarraco (Tarragona). He was to spend the winter of 122/3 there and summond all the delegates from the Spanish communities to an assembly (conventus), so the Historia Augusta reports.
