Villa A at Oplontis (Poppea’s Villa) has been on my wish list for visiting for a year. Believed to be the seaside residence of Nero’s second wife, it was only properly excavated in the 1960s. It is held to contain the very best frescoes in the Roman world (1/2) #FrescoFriday
