Duke was the very first established #GIJoe character I got to re-design. "Stalwart, upright and true. He doesn’t really fit into this new type of war" (from @PaulAllor's description of our Duke). Also "It’s the near future". (cont.)
@BeauSmithRanch @realtimrozon @KitaMiesner @IDW_David_M @MichaelEklund And Doc finding a BIG gun.
@PaulAllor I've been wanting to draw this hair for ages. Used it in my design for the (then) upcoming new Wynonna Earp series (this was before the TV show started production, in 2015). Then later on for a side character in WE, who I ended up never getting to draw myself (except on covers).
"Tough, incredibly well-trained, and has an undertone of rage that she has to keep in careful check" was @PaulAllor's rather brief summary of our Scarlett.
I just wrapped up my work on #BadDayatBlackRock and still very much had #WynonnaEarp on the mind when designing Scarlett.
So, for Tiger's design, @PaulAllor told me about Cambodia’s pre-Khmer Rouge rock scene and sent me some stills from a documentary about it. (cont.)
In addition to @PaulAllor's weekly #GIJonday updates, would anyone be interested in hearing some of my thoughts/decisions that went into the new #GIJoe character designs?
Does anybody by any chance happen to be ready for #BadDayatBlackRock??
#WynonnaEarp
Just realized it's shaping up to become a #WynonnaEarp & #GIJoe kind of year: 'Bad Day at Black Rock' will be out next month; then #GIJoe #1 the month after that.
Btw, if you want, you can pre-order Black Rock via order code: MAR190734. G.I. Joe #1: JUL190704!
'Brawler Scarlett' for our upcoming #GIJoe reboot is also clearly my #WynonnaEarp withdrawal design; I could easily see the both of them sharing drinks in some seedy biker bar and ending bar fights together.
