Drypoint etching on paper by Louis Icart, mostly done in 1900s to 30s. Really interesting poses and silhouettes, and the animal presence on his paintings and drawings is always full of personality, specially the dogs.
The artist Peter Paul Rubens took at stab at painting that, back in 1603. Imagine how Leo's version would look like.
There's more crazy stuff I used to draw back in that time (2004-2007). Lots of cat-walk designs, fashion designs and marketing for fashion events and websites. Seems like a life-time ago.
I stopped making art for 3 years after trying a career in comics, when I got back in 2004 my work was completely different and sky rocketed me into having my own company for 8 years before working on films and games. This is the kind of stuff I made back then. So weird now. lol
14 years ago "The Marvelous Misadventures of Flapjack" was released and I remember when I first saw the pilot, it blew my mind the level of insanely cool but slightly bizarre artwork they did and still be a kids show. Amazing artists and writers on that team + the artbooks 🙌!!!
I hope my art posting is not too confusing for you lovely folks, It varies a lot in style/mediums because I enjoy the challenge of trying things. It's also how I found my way into more efficient art directing. I hope this art-salad is tasty enough for ya'll. Thx for being here!
Ever since I watched Song of the Sea (2014) it became kind of a tradition to re-watch it close to the end of the year. If like myself you enjoy beautiful stylized 2D art and animation with a fantasy touch, give it a go! Beyond the amazing art there's a heartwarming story as well.
I'll try this one: #LovelyLandscapes ✨

See you soon 🤘
