Apparently there was another pokemon teaser today. I don't have any brown Woopers but I pixelled the first 151 a decade (!) ago and these are my favorite sprites.
2/6 Using single pixels allowed me the smoothness and softness of an oil painting. At 1x many people will prefer the version with single pixels. Anti-aliasing allows finer lines, more nuanced curves, & more detail. It looks more 'hi-def', and is good for 'mimesis and mannerism'.
I zapped all the stray pixels PLUS any 'corner connections' I spotted. I chose this work because I wanted to see how this method worked on painterly images with fewer outlines. It also has more single pixels than most of my work, for more contrast between the two versions 1/6
