Again, these are minor scraps, but hey this is the second-ever event comic Cass ever participated in. She had a minor role in Joker's Last Laugh.
...
How is she able to stand like that on a riding motorcycle? Um. Yeah, Death Metal has been the better event for her.
So, the DCU as we know has had A TON of revamps, relaunches, and resets. When it pertains to Cass, she was around the Post-Crisis/Zero Hour time of the DCU (1999). So it's rather simple when it comes to her than say Hawkman or Donna Troy.
@thedcnation @DCComics Cassandra Cain had a real good 2020. Outside of the mainline, she had an amazing graphic novel and became Cazzam in DCeased. Reconciled with her mother, and became Batgirl again in the main universe.
Really, an ongoing is all she needs or appearances in media.
Likewise, Dick entered the battle in his usual Nightwing attire (as shown the last few weeks) but one story in this issue he's seen battling in his JL tie-in garb?
Though these nineteen appearances some are meh. We've had our first (and only) Orphan solo story in DC Doomed & the Damned #1.
Lo, and behold in June we get a tease into September solicitations and this cover. With all the hard-hitting truths Hill was nailing, I think all fans of Cass were ready for the Orphan identity to be laid to rest.
In the exact same month out of the blue, here comes writer Bryan Edward Hill in the mainline pushing it too with B&O subverting the trope at long last. I look at this page below and still smirk hard at this. Much like Shadow of the Batgirl, this was a raw nerve.
Literally, I can spend a whole separate tweet on how amazing this graphic novel was and still want to thank the creators behind this for doing this character so much justice. Like literally this was the perfect update to the character's origins that I hope others look upon.
