#dalle to hand drawn art: how it started and how it’s going:
I’m finding #dalle and #stablediffusion impeccable for reference, but I don’t see putting down my Apple pencil and Procreate down any time soon.
Another raw #dalle2 output vs final hand drawn in #Procreate. I had very specific art direction from the client, not the art director, that would have been impossible with just #aiart output.
Raw AI output is not the future for pro artists. AI output as reference / hybrid is.
Raw AI art from #dalle2 used as reference vs final hand drawn art in #Procreate.
I’m not so sure raw prompt #aiart is really the future. I could never ever get this result, along with edits from the art director, from an AI. Impossible.
3/🧵I found one gem I really liked, and locked the seed. I then lowered the image strength to allow #stablediffusion to interpret a bit more freely. I got great subtle variations like these, and chose one from the lot - the last one:
11/x
Image strength: 55%
CFG: 7
Steps: 50
Sampler: k_euler_ancestral
And our last sampler change. Bizarre little flower postules or somethings. But still cool.
And that's it! But...
4/x
Image strength: 50%
CFG: 7
Steps: 50
Sampler: k_euler
Big change on the sampler. So different! Looks like product packaging on the back wall.
A quick study with 12 images showing the effect of the "Strength" & other settings in the #dreamstudio #stablediffusion new "Initial Image" feature.
Let's start with the initial image: a cartoon I drew a couple years ago about blueberries:

@TomLikesRobots @arvalis My very first inpainting back in 3/22 wasn't on a DALLE generated image, it was on my own upload. It drew a new character in the style of the other characters in one case, and drew a small object in the pen and ink style of parent piece. I'm sure they are still art :)
GN one more time, but i had to try the #midjourney beta with #stablediffusion. Been months since I've been here, having been torn away by #dalle2 and then later the Stable Diffusion betas.
Illustrators gonna illustrate with this...
