This is so the game can focus on awesome melee fights.

Of course like a Zelda game it should have shoulder button targeting. To me this is the best way to Target in a game and is more forgiving knowing that there are four shoulder buttons. The alternate shoulder button would be a blocking command.

And as for Character DESIGN... Again is it any contest? Abec is the man for the job! And if not Abec Himself then take inspiration from his work please?! Of course you'd have to do Aincrad fashion, but also use the monsters as well! And one more thing...

Now for CHARACTER ARTSTYLE... I mean is it any contest? Either it'd be based on Abec's illustrations or on the 1st season of the anime. And not just with faces pasted on, but fully modeled like BoTW's models. Think BoTW models but with the proportions of SAO.

Abec uses cel shading in his illustrations and so does the anime while the scenery is still very pretty. this is necessary for our SAO game. Granted the shading in BoTW may be a bit... INTENSE... So I think it should be toned down and use less contrast.

Here have more images to convince you. While the maps don't have to have the EXACT types of features BoTW has, it's good to have such references. In my opinion the lighting and colors just work

AGAIN BOTW is the closest to SAO in terms of aesthetic. The lighting, the textures, it's not dead on but it's as close as anything has ever been. SAO has always looked incredible in their environments and use of color, to try for realism would be a sin.

Okay so something's been bugging me. We don't have a proper game representation of Sword Art Online the official games are fine, but unfortunately they stick too close to traditional RPGs. So I know this is gonna be a thread about how to make the best SAO game for console.
