@angelcakedreams YEAH he was only in 3 cartoons! AND I KNOW THESE FACES ARE SOOO GREAT. funnily enough they just traced over them in the remake, so daffy’s head is unusually circular LOL
from 1935-1937, porky started out with voice actors joe dougherty, who had a real stutter. consequently, he was let go because his stutter was too difficult to deal with (and too expensive, lots of retakes.) here’s his opening scene, with some great animation by bob mckimson.

i think i’m leaning towards scribner now. i thought it was too much of an obvious choice but i guess not after all. especially with the shiny eyes. but i’m obviously no expert
this reminds me a bit of the “interlude” gags tex avery would use like the entire train sequence in porky the wrestler but to a lesser extent. i forgot how good this cartoon was especially for its time
