Lots of Yugiposting lately, so I'll take my chance to rec "Duel Masters: Shadow of the Code" to anyone who hasn't played it and wants a fun TCG to mess around.
It has 600 cards, all monster cards have battle sprites, lots of deckbuilding challenges and it even has minigames.
Being in the niche FGC is funny cause you go:
"This is 'Super Ttong Bang-gwi' and it was released only on the North Korean appstore, here's a Gomul ToD"
then someone goes:
"Sadly that only works on that specific stage and corner. Sogdo has a divekick infinite. Here's a tierlist."
I was doing some digging on what's the first FG to have online play and here's what I've got so far:
-OMF 2097 seems to be the first (Oct'94)
-XBand as a close second (Nov'94)
As a fun side note, Violent Vengeance ('95) and Battle Arena Toshiden PC port ('96) had netplay too.
Will probably just do a lil CMV with all the ToDs I find in Toshinden GB instead of single posting.
Surprised at how demanding it feels execution wise, thankfully it has a lenient buffer.
Plus, extra options that make the game run faster and add extra moves? Yes please 🙏
Quick edit but yeah, keep the KoF love going https://t.co/31kZSGHFbe
Apparently World Heroes was gonna make the jump to 3D on the Hyper Neo Geo 64, though nothing came of it.
I'd love to see Kidd, J-Max or Rasputin in this style.
