With 5 days remaining in the 2020-2021 water year, and with no rainfall in sight, it is now set in stone that this water year will be the driest ever recorded in 113 years of weather keeping in my city, Pasadena, CA.

A pathetic 6.05" fell.

Exceptional drought now cripples CA.

- We have hundreds of thousands of New Orleanians living below sea level.

- We have a raging pandemic with hospitals at max capacity BEFORE the storm.

- The storm is forming too quickly for people to evacuate.

Catastrophe is approaching the state of Louisiana.

We are now about ~5 days out from the onset of a *potentially* all-time record smashing heat wave across California and the western U.S.

I don't believe I've seen widespread highs over 120°F in central California before...

I'd normally take a rest from fighting the climate crisis by going and hanging out by my local stream in my park...

But there is no stream....
Because we're in an extreme drought...
Because of the climate crisis....

Watching for the potential for a massive heat wave to strike the western U.S late next week. (July 7 - 13)

Last year, I lost 4 of my 16 native saplings in my park due to a pair of early season heatwaves.

Temperatures topped 100°F (38°C) on 4/24 and 5/6.

Very annoyed to see 100°F+ heat will return to SoCal later this week. Too damn early. Hope I don't loose any saplings.

The next heatwave is already on the horizon, and highs will return to extreme levels this following weekend. Meanwhile, we'll sit in the 80s. ****.
