Seasonal Migration. A bit of an older painting, but I still like the concept. I had some other ideas planned around it, it nothing has come of them yet.
IDK why the image in the first tweet came out so blurry, but this should be higher quality.
I was really keen on "windowing" the lux aurea chaos so that it'd be a bit more attention-grabbing during the brief moment this scene was on the screen.
2/4 It began its life as a class assignment. I think the prompt was "I'll never see you again". I was just then starting to explore Finno-Ugric history/culture/paganism so my first draft was a death-like character dancing, pulling a woman, away from her family & to the beyond.
Here’s a bunch of MTG work from this year too.
This year was neat. Made some OK progress with the book, switched almost completely to traditiona mdiums and began freelancing fulltime. Struggled with the general worth of art,but after meeting so many art lovers at MTG events I feel reinvigorated. I hope you had OK year as well!
Something I’ve noticed living in NA is that xmas is a much more solemn celebration back home. It often involves visiting graves of the dead and leaving lit candles in remembrance. The sea of candles slowly peters off in distance as some graves have nobody left to remember them.
#HumanArtists ! Maybe a bit off-topic, but you don’t have to have an innate talent to become a good artist. I didn’t start doing art until I was past 16 and my first creations were horrible DLC comic knock offs. All it takes is a lot of practice and the right resources.
I'm very excited to be attending @FaceToFaceGames F2F Tour Weekend in Calgary on 9th-11th of Dec as a guest artist! I'll have all sorts of MTG art goodies from artist proofs to prints so come by if you are in the area. @artofzara and @LucasJGraciano are going to be there as well!
