Note that foreshortened hand. Compare it to Caravaggio's Supper at Emmaus (from 1601, which you can see upstairs at the NG)
'The Universal Artist' room moves towards the latter stages of Raphael's career.
His earlier brighter colour deepens & his figures become a little too theatrical, as in The Madonna of Divine Love, or here, in The Madonna of the Rose which is on loan from @museodelprado.
