#apaintingaday a wee review of the galleries, I have visited beyond UK shores. I’m back, here we are at @vangoghmuseum - even if you are not a fan this is well worth a visit. Book advance tickets the queues are usually epic. I selected my favs rather than the usual suspects 1/2

While in Venice, I finally got to visit #GalleriedellAccademia to view #Giorgione’s La Tempesta. This painting provokes heated debate among art historians. I studied it closely for a paper but nothing prepared me for the #euphoria of finally seeing it in the ‘flesh’ #vss365 😍

St Francis of Assisi was a major figure in the Catholic Counter Reformation. He modelled the expected behaviour of the ‘ordinary people’. Humble, modest, good to animals, suffering the #stigma to suffer as Christ. Of course, that would not rule The Church’s own behaviour #vss365
