I love the surrounding art. ‘scandalous’ portrait of Mme. Gautreau, he had to change the strap & the name to Mme X. Did Ripper painting mean he was the serial killer? One of my favs continues to defy interpretation, La Tempesta

While in Venice, I finally got to visit to view La Tempesta. This painting provokes heated debate among art historians. I studied it closely for a paper but nothing prepared me for the of finally seeing it in the ‘flesh’ 😍
