@farawayfarer I think the original VN art/char designs have a lot of good doujin charm and that's deffo the context I fell in love with them in. The modern Type Moon gacha machine and its cast of infinite interchangeable anime girlfriends/saberfaces is pretty grotesque in comparison to me
Reflecting on chapter 1 of suikogaiden vol 1, very easily the best part of suikoden's entire ps1 output https://t.co/4iNfPPNy0N

Hydlide (1984) - Just a fun little adventure! A great template to work from for micro-rpg devs, and it inspired the Fairune games which I adore. I'd really like to make a game in this style someday.
Legend of Mana (2000) - I wanna wrap myself in a warm blanket woven out of the music and make myself sick eating cake made out of the backgrounds.
Seiklus (2003) - THE classic freeware platformer explore-em-up. Predecessor to Knytt and countless others. No fighting, just poking around a beautiful delightful expansive world. https://t.co/rdrLQjIWiP
Hunters: Relic of Stars (2011) - This game has so many buck-wild action set-pieces I still think about years after playing. Comparable with Kamiya's stuff; Rhete always knows how to get as fun and wild and dramatic with his games' languages as possible. https://t.co/QxlndVHhYC
I can't believe @jdm0079 single-handedly saved movies for me https://t.co/EuOl3DRdta
@crimson2877 @Xylon7373 Hazel's a little better but still similar, stuff like her cozy anime rpgs vid feels about as critically enriching to me as browsing fucking hardcoregaming101 for a couple hours looking at random screenshots. "Look at these chill nice viiiiiiibes"
