@lizardengland Here's a fun one. Daggerfall Unity has a small game scene that spools out 161k sqkm terrain, 12k locations, 3k dungeons, quests, magic, weather, mods, etc. all run from a small number of initial game objects. Assets are proc-gen or streamed at runtime from 1996 DOS binaries.

I've been playing with photogrammetry as a means of converting interesting natural shapes into art assets for my next game. Also learning Blender so I can cleanup, simplify, and retexture these objects to fit the game's style. This is all magic to me right now, but so much fun!
Noticed something cool in my distance field test spheres today. Either the lossy compression (float > byte) or meshing process creates a hex-like surface perturbation like soap bubbles crowding together. Tweaked normal colours and drew some hexes to make effect more visible.

My transformed wereboar can't normally speak with anyone, but they will be offered quests and can even rent a tavern room.
All they need is a trench coat and they'd look like one, much taller, rat.
