Bone #histology resembled a group of #dinosaurs that incl. Stegosaurus (called thyreophorans). It was probably a juvenile, & bite marks show it was scavenged after death. #IsleofEigg was under a shallow sea in the #Jurassic, #StEiggosaurus washed into it after death. [4/7]

#Dinosaurs get all the press, but there are usually many other animals to be found at any fossil locality. At our site on the #IsleofSkye, a huge diversity of verts are represented, giving insights into an entire Middle #Jurassic ecosystem. #FossilFriday #Scotland #fossils
