The way I see it, Sonic can "cry" but it strongly depends on how it's executed (i.e., the context of and the type of tears he's shedding, the level of emotion, and how he's being shown to cry.). Plus, it'd be a rare event due to his very personality and specified dislikes. (3)

Since the topic resurfaced, I'd like to kindly take a moment to reiterate that Sonic not being able to cry is likely an overall misconstrual the Sonic can't excessively emote "mandate". @Alex_Hedgefox2 @SpinStellar I have also explained to you why it technically clashed with the official Sonic anatomy by pointing out the highly contrasting features such as their limbs (Sally's are more humanoid with muscles and definition when it's canonically noodlish and rubber hose) just for one example.

@Alex_Hedgefox2 @SpinStellar For example, the way Art Manwhinney drew Sally and an older Sally was a lot more accurate to satam's artistic style (feminine body but not as pronounced or humanoid) than Steven Butler's way which seems more reminiscent of other anthropomorphic, comic super-hero styles.
