Up next is @bmagrieveson, an artist who specialises in horror, specifically cosmic horror and body horror. With LBGTQIA+ and folklore themes, their past work includes Gutterspawn, a comic about a punk who finds a strange creature in the gutter and decides to take it home.

Autobiographical comics and pop culture inspired zines abound in the work of @_ClaireOB! Claire collaborated with Jennie Raper on Endo-why me?-triosis, and has a series of zines under her belt including Occupation: Legend – a series of zines focused on women in music and film.

The gorgeous work of @alxndracook has a focus on mental health and honest reactions to the everyday, as well as being inspired by mythology and Japanese culture. And she’s also another of this year’s @brokenfrontier Six to Watch!

Best known for her hilarious and relatable autobio comic strips, the delightful @amiluu_scribble will be exhibiting at #HCZF this year. She’s also made lots of other comics and illustration work, all of which is playful, wholesome and instantly enjoyable.

Another of this year’s @BrokenFrontier Six to Watch, @shanefaced makes comics across a diverse range of genres – from supernatural fantasy to autobiography to horror parody. No matter the style or genre, Shane’s work is consistently excellent and always worth a read.

Cardiff-based @yourlilpigeon is a Polish illustrator who makes work focusing on Slavic folk tales, re-imagining through a modern lens – such as her upcoming comic Rusalka, which follows a mythical woman with strange powers finds herself in a new place.

An anthology and collective publishing beautiful science fiction, @decadencecomics make comics featuring psychedelic altered states and dystopian visions. Stunning linework and mesmerising stories abound, prepare to have the walls of reality broken down.
