The drawing continued from there! When it comes to drawing and character design, it's largely been slow and steady for me. The repetition and the use of online bases (like those great draw the squad references) helped me nail down consistent aspects of my characters' appearances

Anyways, in the midst of all of this character determining, I used a base I found online to draw a chibi inspired by Overwatch's "cute" character sprays. I think it was the first time I ever really tried shading. :P

Meanwhile, I was still working on those chibi drawing bases. And also my digital colouring xD

Neither of these batches of OCs have become my "main" OCs, but I still write them and it's still nice to have at least some idea as to what they look like, yaknow?

(In large part his design was inspired by Kittan from Gurren Lagann, lmao)

I also began to explore drawing eyes specifically! It'd come to my attention that a couple of anime I watched had different eye shapes for every character, and I thought that was super neat. It's a drawing quirk I've stuck with ever since.

I didn't give it much thought at the time, but with hindsight one of my best old drawings was this one I did for my crush, featuring her (left) with three of her favourite anime characters.

(Hey, I was young and smitten. It was worth the effort to see her smile. :D)

I was still big into anime (it's definitely,,, visually obvious here) and also into those character design sheets. I tried to do them with my own characters, although I barely had the patience to finish one. It was where I really began to practice facial anatomy and stuff.

It was only a little further beyond this that I actually drew this guy! uuuuuuuuh this was technically also me scribbling over a pre-existing drawing (although all the character details and colouring is by me). I really need to create a new all-original avatar for myself... xS
