There are Bane's other friends in the squat he lives in, all various degrees of bad influence: Heto, his buddy of loose morals, Kaji, his upstanding Punk Dad figure, and Lance, neutral influence and eco-friendly gay disaster
Ira and Theo, by the way, have been best friends and partners in crime since high school, and haven't yet figured out that they're ridiculous fools who've been in love with each other the whole time. They'll get there eventually.
Meanwhile, the city lives and breathes. Les Revanchistes, a trio of graffiti artists/urban explorers/terrorists? uncover some important truths
There's the rest of the crew at Carrots' music venue, including (first pic) his old friend and business partner, Silver-- who are all going to have to navigate not only hosting a TV show, but changes that threaten the scene and the city herself...
There's "Apocalypse" and "Nightshade," two teenagers who are trying to troll the votes for the luls with their blog, campaigning to get the worse teams to win...
Then there are the other characters. Dwayne (colorful guy in the 2nd tweet w/ pics), the eccentric hot mess of a TV producer and Ameya (same), his hapless voice of reason; Ryleagh, the show's host, whom Ameya absolutely hates and mistrusts; and the judges, openly anti-helpful
Meanwhile we've got a lot of other kids with something to hide. Why's Jill so determined to win this contest? Why is Izzy? What's Bane so afraid his band will find out about him? How's secretive Amber doing suddenly being thrust into the spotlight?
Anxious Haggis isn't feeling great about these events... or about suddenly going from smoky bars to the bright lights of TV.
But he especially hates Roadie, confident, cool, a guy who could be doing anything (and anyone).
The hate is mutual...
Persephone's Winter (under a different name) had been a three-piece when they were in college, but now Izzy persuades Haggis's brother Scurvy-- a mild-mannered piano teacher for kids-- and bassist Roadie to join the band to help out with the contest.
But they have competition. Their main rival becomes Persephone's Winter, headed by ambitious, loudmouth punk Izzy and his friends Haggis and Xero.
Strong-willed bandleaders Jill and Izzy are gonna hate each other, naturally.
