1905 - Postcard of Castle Street and the Town Hall
A while back I 'Lowryised' a photo of people playing on the frozen lake in Sefton Park.
I've just finished playing around with another pic of the same lake but with a different scene.

Queen Victoria visited Liverpool on 9th October 1851 and was so impressed by @SGHLpool, she commisioned the artist William Wyld to paint it.
She also visited Manchester and commisioned a painting of the city showing how vast and industrialied 'Cottonopolis' was at the time

The beautiful stained glass window on the South side of The Great Hall of @SGHLpool showing St George slaying the dragon was installed in 1883 to celebrate Liverpool becoming a city only three years previously.
