Itô Jakuchû, White Cockatoo on a Pine Branch. Ink and colour on silk, late 18th century.
The best thing about this painting is that the white pigment, 'gofun', is made from powdered oyster shell.
@HGriffeArt Thank you, Hubert. 💙 Detail is what I'm accustomed to, so that's the least difficult part for me. It's the freshness and sense of spontaneity that I want to be able to summon again. 😭

@WryCritic Thank you, Natalia.💙 I do, too (could be the shared CEE and SEA thing again, perhaps ;D). It doesn't tend to gain traction online in general, though. When it occasionally does well, it's a pleasant surprise.
@nerdragecast It was made by @palaeoplushies and was the first of its kind. The coloration was inspired by this older Olorotitan illustration of mine. ^.^
