Why I was so keen to include raccoons in my @FT piece about the @NHM_London : A 2-year-old Sophie and I feeding these pesky but unbelievably loveable animals from our back door in San Diego plus the notice that was hanging in our Oregon Airbnb in 2019 https://t.co/oe9Mgn1a3i
New artwork for @HistoryInTheAir's Nov issue, out in UK now, looks at the P-38's turbo-supercharger system, a clever use of exhaust energy to compress intake air, enabling better performance at altitude. The accompanying text for the feature is by @JDKightly #avgeek
The Lockheed P-38, an early product of Kelly Johnson and the Skunk Works. Teaser artwork, one component of a much more involved piece, which will be published in the next 2-3 weeks #AvGeek #illustration
Musing today about my 2 worst subjects at school, English Language and History. Anyway, here's artwork from an FT piece I wrote and a screenshot of graphics I researched and produced for Britain at War magazine about the 1945 UK general election, both projects are from last year
Art for Sep's @HistoryInTheAir looks at Hucks Starters, Model Ts modified to turn aircraft props and start their engines. Big thanks to the folks at @ShuttleworthTru, the details they supplied made work on this project a real joy. The artworks accompany great text by @JDKightly
Popped into my local museum, @deHavMuseum this week and it was great to see that, as part of their new development, they have a dedicated gallery space. These two magnificent Cuneo originals were on show there. I think they were both commissioned by de Havilland back in the day
New graphics for a piece by @MsHannahMurphy in @FTMag about surveillance tech and how activists are using tech to fight against it. It's a good example of how using 3D for illustration is revolutionising my work. https://t.co/Hvys0Ancje #illustration #infographic #3dmodelling
Another illustration from my @FT piece describing a walk through @sciencemuseum: Jet 1, Rover's magnificent 1950 attempt at a gas turbine-engined car. The whole piece can be found here https://t.co/tY1pBTgpLL #science #engineering #illustration
The Chipmunk, de Havilland's iconic trainer first flew 75 years ago today. The first artwork is by me and it shows one of @RAFBBMF's Chipmunks during winter servicing. The second two, by Wilf Hardy and Frank Wootton, two of my art heroes, both hang in the @TheRAFClub #AvGeeks
