You'd think HG would do the 2nd collab justice because they personally enjoy playing Siege. But then you get crap like having CGs copying older CGs.

In a meta sense, it resembles the implosion Ubisoft is having right now.

To end, the first collab had Rhodes combat operators that are up the level of experience as Ash's team. Tequila and Catapult were perfunctory; He's there to advertise the future Bolivar event and repeat the same unsubtle, heavy-handed drink metaphor from his Operator Record. 7/7

Sure, the event was made for Ela being an artist with daddy issues, and the artist community is sympathetic, but the conflict is Ice Capades compared to the existential danger Ash's team had to face. Also, the moral direction is set with Mateo jailed while Reynell is free. 6/7

And instead of geopolitical tensions in Sargon similar to the US/ Middle East we have... a military leader and an art broker with daddy issues fighting over land. It's smaller scale, but not compelling, especially when the baddies are more stupid evil than malicious evil. 3/7

My exposure with John Cassaday was his work on Planetary, a story that celebrates Pulp, Literature, and Comics of the past century, but most of all, that sense of adventure and heroism those stories inspired.
