That part came out of nowhere and I wondered if they opened a Medical Dictionary and pointed to a random diagnostic technique.

They could have used something like a substance that precipitates dissolved Originium in blood and then infer level of infection.

As a pet peeve, Yato healing that wound was bad. If it's DEEP enough to REACH bone, and WIDE enough to SEE it, cauterization won't work. Plus, you're not wounding the inner thigh without hitting the Sciatic Nerve or Femoral/ Perforating Arteries. She's paralyzed or dead. 6/6

Mirai's solution was half-assed. Her name means "Future", but she couldn't give a short-term solution of a HOME. She also wants to break up families so they can bring back Originium tech, pushing science without accounting for social upheaval like some petty Lysenkoist. 5/6

The lesson is effectively blunted by Yato's mercy. She lets an invasive species roam free to damage the ecological balance of the Soubo Mountains, despite lessons of balance and moderation between man and nature.

And all those wasted carves too. 4/6

Yato and Noir Corne learn the townsfolk are hiding a secret in Chunfen—I mean Roka Village. In search of a better life, they abandon their connection to nature to mine Originium in excess, risking a Catastrophe. 2/6
