A 1.5hr study that I worked on last night, of Laurence Olivier as King Lear.
I think with this study I started to get to grips with an idea: not being afraid to soften as you move away from the focal point of the image.
I spend more time exploring this in the next one I do :)
A layout in line and a layout in colour.
I'm always trying to keep these as minimal and quick as possible and focus on loose perspective and atmosphere is a few marks.
Midway through a painted illustration from last night/early this morning (sneaking in as much practise as I can)
Researching+practising more washed out, less single-source lighting as I definitely have a tendency to hide behind oversaturated, big dramatic lighting. I want to learn how to get better at this (despite it being painful).
1hr study. Can you tell what it's from, from this mess?
A 2hr study (theme LIONS) as part of the incredibly inviting #studybuddies - run by @abigbat
I'm still really new to digital painting so spaces like this are such a beautiful boon.
Completed this first thing in the morning. Had such fun doing it and I can't wait to do another one.
