@ZiraFrost Then I go in on the edges of the highlights and shade some of them in on a second Add(Glow) layer
@ZiraFrost I rinse and repeat this untill my eyes bleed, keeping in mind the center is usaully the brightest (and therefore has the largest highlights) while the edges tend to have darker ones.
@ZiraFrost I also use something I call 'contrast shading' a lot when shading. This is when you shade something and then go back and darken the edge where the dark part of the hair meets the light part.
@ZiraFrost I used this shape at the tops of the bangs a lot. I draw a rounded lump in the center and then shade the edges of the bang
@ZiraFrost I then go into the 'fine shading. Here I am more agressive with dark/light shading. I add shading to the ends of the bangs and the top of the hair
@ZiraFrost Ok, so my style of shading uses a paintbrush without pen pressured brush size. In order to control the width of the brush, I use shortcuts to make the brush smaller/larger.
First thing I do is paint a large, very light wash of shading everywhere except the highlighted area
:P I hate backgrounds
